How to delete all screenshots on iPhone
Screenshots are the clutter nobody means to keep: tickets, receipts, memes, maps. Here's how to find every one, and clear them quickly.
Find all your screenshots
iOS keeps screenshots in their own collection. In the Photos app, scroll to Media Types and open Screenshots. Screen recordings have a collection of their own next to it.
Delete them in bulk
- In the Screenshots collection, tap Select.
- Drag your finger across the thumbnails and down the screen to select many at once.
- Tap the bin icon, and confirm.
Deleting from the Screenshots collection removes them from your whole library, not just the collection. They go to Recently Deleted for 30 days first.
Keep the ones that matter
The risk with bulk deleting is the screenshot you actually needed: a booking reference, a recipe, a message you wanted to keep. If your screenshots are a mix, it's safer to go through them one at a time.
In Sift, choose Screenshots in Show me and swipe through them full screen. Keep the useful ones, bin the rest, and delete the lot in one go when you're done.
Stop them piling up
When you take a screenshot, the thumbnail in the corner has a Delete Screenshot option under Done. Using it for throwaway screenshots stops most of them reaching your library at all.
▸ Sift
Sift shows your photos one at a time: swipe right to keep, left to bin. Nothing's deleted until you confirm, and it's free for 20 decisions a day.
